***KIMIE MINER & HALEAMANO LIVE***

-About Kimie Miner
Born Kimie (pronounced Kimi-ay) Kauikeolani Miner, in Hawaii, this 25 year old singer/songwriter has developed an eclectic musical style all her own. Her parents, of Hawaiian and Portugese decent, noticed her unmistakable talent at a very young age. “I fell in love with music as a child and it naturally just became apart of my life. It is my mother, my brother, my best friend, and my first love. No matter where I am in my life, I know I can always turn to music.”

A self taught guitarist and song writer, Kimie grew as a musical artist while boarding at Kamehameha Schools in Honolulu, HI. “India.Arie inspired me to pick up a guitar when I was 14 years old and write from my heart. Other artists like Lauryn Hill and Erykah Badu showed me how to be an individualist and remain true to myself.”

Kimie’s signature style weaves acoustic soul, reggae, hawaiian with a touch of R&B and funk, into cool sultry melodies. Her free spirit can be heard through her lyrics touching on love, life, and relationships. “When something happens in my life, whether good or bad, I can almost immediately hear it being sung to a melody. Each situation creates a different mood. The words follow.” Her lyrics prove universal, spanning race, gender, and age.

Kimie has toured the west coast opening for reggae pioneer Barrington Levy. She has also collaborated with reggae’s most prolific production team, Sly and Robbie, She has traveled the world, living and recording in Jamaica, Hong Kong, Tahiti and Hawai’i. -Justin Kaho’onei.

HaleAmanO Doing It BIG!

So far 2011 has been an exciting year for HaleAmanO.

The year started out with the groups first tour of Hawaii. Two weeks on the islands opened up a whole new audience for the group from Las Vegas. Accolades started coming in when the CD entitled, HaleAmanO, “House of Sharks” garnered the recognition award at the Hawaii Music Awards. Then to top it off, the band was recognized by the readers of the Las Vegas Weekly as the “BEST LIVE BAND” in Las Vegas. The group has been consistently in the weekly top 7 countdown on the Pipeline 2 Paradise online radio station. Their song “Temptationz” held the number one position for 8 weeks in a row. The group is the only band to place two songs in the top seven not once, but twice.

Regular weekly appearances at The Rhumbar on Thursday nights, and Saturday nights at The Pond, in Green Valley Ranch has demonstrated the appeal the band has resonated in the Las Vegas music scene.

So what’s next?

A new EP to be released this summer, appearances with artists such as Kimie Miner, Anuhea, Tribal Seeds, and more touring of California and Arizona in the works. The band is continuing to write new music and provide audiences with musical experiences that none soon forget. Of course the band is no where without its legions of fans worldwide. Fans like you provide the band with energy and focus. All the above has not happened overnight. The band is still growing and tweaking . You will see some new faces and energy in the months ahead. HaleAmanO is excited to have you along for the ride on the biggest wave this side of the 9th island.

Thank you all for being such loyal friends and fans. Mahalo!
